A website redesign for an iconic theater. Designed to sell tickets.
Geffen Playhouse Website Design & Development
We partnered with Geffen Playhouse to redesign their website from the ground up. A hub of the Los Angeles theater scene, we helped them bring a refreshed brand identity to life. With one primary goal– to sell tickets.
A website user experience to drive sales. And discovery.
A website redesign starts with a plan. Working hand-in-hand with our friends at Geffen Playhouse, we re-imagined a somewhat complex (and content rich) website architecture. First and foremost, we made it as easy as possible to find and buy theater tickets. Secondarily, we simplified access to other programs and content. This included their extensive education and community engagement programs, as well as their fundraising arm (important, as they are a not-for-profit theater).

A website design that is adaptable, searchable and findable.
A key goal for this website redesign was to allow all of their content to be searchable and usable. Behind this intuitive front-end experience, we created an incredibly deep, relatable, back-end production database. This allowed 22 years of past productions (and all productions moving forward) to be easily searchable and cross-referenced throughout the site. We also made it easy for anyone to create new webpages and adapt content to existing pages with third-party content and shareable media.
With our amazing SEO Partner, we optimized site structure, URL structure, content, schema markup, for local and broad SEO. We minimized the SEO impact of a new site launch, and in fact organic search traffic increased by 100% in the month after launch.
Designing an eCommerce system to encourage purchase everywhere.
Working closely with AudienceView, we developed a seamless ticketing path across both mobile and desktop.
“Teak was a thoughtful partner as we built our new website. They built a back-end system that will serve us well for years to come. Everything was well thought out and executed.”
