Attracting a younger audience to a legendary theatre and driving them to purchase.
Curran Theater Digital Strategy, Website Design & Development
The Curran theater, in downtown San Francisco, has been putting on shows for almost a century. Under the direction of Carole Shorenstein Hayes, Curran underwent a total facelift– from the seats to the roof to the branding and web experience. Curran teamed up with Teak to bring that new brand and web experience to life.
We partnered on everything from strategy, user experience to design and development with the amazingly creative people of the Curran.

Driving people to purchase, from the top of the funnel.
The vision for the Curran is to be San Francisco’s cultural hub for the arts, so we re-imagined the website to be more than just the place to buy tickets. It’s a hub for cultural content as well.
Through editorial and video and photography executed at the highest level, we get people engaged at the top of the funnel. Ultimately our goal is to sell tickets so we also crafted an intuitive user experience to make it as easy as possible to find the shows and seats you want– especially on mobile.

Art in a digital & mobile world.
We also helped Curran define their digital brand– taking some of the elements created for an offline world to develop brand guidelines and a refined visual identity design. It was pretty much a dream project for a San Francisco branding and design studio– help a legendary art brand be relevant in a digital and mobile world.

“Teak has been an amazing partner on so many fronts. They have challenged and guided our team to think about our brand, visual identity and place in the digital landscape in a measured and strategic way – and responded with joy, intrigue and calm creativity to the challenges we’ve thrown their way. They’ve really become part of our Curran family.”
